From ArtsUnited:

ArtsUnited’s award winning artists will be showing their work at the LGBT Visitor Center in Miami Beach through April 27, 2012. The opening reception was held during Pride Week with complimentary cocktails and hors d’oeuvres on Wednesday April 11.

This is the first time that ArtsUnited will be exhibiting in South Beach. The show will coincide with Miami Beach Gay Pride celebrations. ArtsUnited is a gay and lesbian arts organization founded in 1999 and is based in Fort Lauderdale. Its mission is to use the arts to break down historical barriers preventing lesbians and gays from contributing fully and openly to the cultural, social and economic success of South Florida. The show, which has no theme, features artists working in different mediums and styles. The unifying link is the fact that they are all award winners of the prestigious “United and Proud Exhibition” or “ArtExplosion,” two hallmark exhibitions presented by ArtsUnited annually. Some of the artists who will be exhibiting include realistic painters Alfred Phillips and Gregory Little; photographers Timothy Leistner and Nancy Goldwin and expressionist Keith Clark.
