It is one of America’s most popular gay bars and a favourite celeb hangout.
But the Abbey nightclub in West Hollywood will soon be closing its doors to a particular type of clientele.
The bustling bar will be banning straight women’s bachelorette parties until gay marriage is legalised.

Slap in the face: Owner David Cooley said it’s unfair that gay couples cannot enjoy the same celebration
The move may come as a shock to the hordes of female fans who head to the nightclub to watch the attractive male go go dancers and celebrate their pending nuptials.
‘We love our straight girlfriends coming in to celebrate one of the happiest days of their life,’ owner David Cooley told msnbc.com.
‘But it’s also a slap in the face to my customers and my life that we can’t have that same celebration.’
The decision met with mixed reactions from the club’s visitors.
