Frank Ocean impressed the audience at the MTV Video Music Awards on Thursday night with what is being referred to by critics as a “stunning performance.”  The combination of theatrical scenery, raw talent and sincere emotion coupled with the gay comtroversy surrounding Ocean has generated a healthy buzz.

Ocean performed a very raw version of his unexpected hit, “Thinking About You.”  The simple love song took on a whole new meaning after Ocean came out of the closet discussing a previous relationship with another man on his blog making him the first openly gay hip hop performer in history.

Although his performance is the one generating all the buzz following Thursdays awards, Ocean shared the stage with such big names as Pink and One Direction.
