The gay marriage bill in Minnesota has the votes it needs to pass committee and move to the floor of the House of Representatives.
According to the Associated Press, the House Civil Law Committee has nine out of 17 votes to pass the piece of legislation on to the 134 representatives.
The same looks likely in the Senate Judiciary Committee as four of the eight members say they’ll vote yes while a fifth member who has says she supports gay marriage won’t reveal her vote.
To pass gay marriage, the Minnesota House needs 68 votes and the Senate needs 34, but those votes will likely be delayed while supporters try and pull together the votes.
