queerplanet.net was founded in Syndney in the early 2000′s by web mogul Andrew Stopps and is believed to be one of Australia’s first widespread LGBT media outlets.
queerplanet.net has taken on a whole new image here on the web. During the fall of 2011, queerplanet.net changed formats and started focusing on the coverage of abnormal news and world wide weirdness powered by the resources of GaySocialites.com. Basically, we’re covering what’s queer!
In 2011, queerplanet.net joined the GaySocialites.com family at which time all operations were moved to New York, NY. Together the two websites formed Charles Winters Information Management, a parent company named for its founder (Charles Winters).
Winters worked at queerplanet as a general assignment report and later as the Regional Director for North America prior to launching GaySocialites.com in October of 2005.
