After months of speculation it was finally revealed who would be taking former The X Factor judges Paula Abdul’s and Nicole Scherzinger’s seats: pop music icon Britney Spears and teen sensation Demi Lovato.  The announcement took place at the Fox upfronts presentation in New York on Monday.  Spears and Lovato joined current judges Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid for the presentation.  A long list of female vocalists were rumored to be considered for judges, including Miley Cyrus, LeAnn Rimes, Fergie, and Janet Jackson.  Whitney Houston was to meet with creator Cowell to discuss  the position the week of her tragic death back in February.

According to an exclusive E! News report, Britney Spears signed a$15 million contract for her new Season 2 gig.  TMZ broke the news late Sunday night Lovato would be rounding out the judging panel.  Both are extremely joyful for the opportunity.  At the upfronts, Spears said she was “so excited by the whole experience!”  She added in a press release that she is “a huge fan of the show” and now gets to be “part of the action.  Simon and L.A. better watch out!”

Former-Disney star Demi Lovato echoed Spears’ sentiments claiming she is “totally stoked to be here…I’m excited to represent my generation and find the winner!  To be able to spend each week with Simon, L.A., and Britney watching the best that America has to offer is truly a dream come true.”

Simon Cowell shared his thoughts about his new co-workers in a press release:

“I’m absolutely delighted Britney and Demi are joining us.  Britney remains one of the biggest stars in the world, she’s talented, fascinating – and I believe she knows exactly how to spot ‘The X Factor.’ Demi’s had an amazing career in music, TV and film for someone her age. She’s young, confident, and enthusiastic. I think it’s really important that she speaks to our younger audience. The new panel will be dynamic and will work really well with the changes we are making to the show.”

There has been no word yet on who will replace host Steve Jones.  Glee‘s Darren Criss was rumored but he told The Hollywood Reporter his schedule is too busy.  Former World Wrestling Entertainment, Dancing With The Stars alum, and now George Clooney’s current love Stacy Keibler is said to be in talks because of her stunning personality.  The new host, along with the new judging panel, will be joining America in their living rooms  in 2013 for a mid-season premiere on Fox.

Newsweek has Barack Obama on their cover this week (picture above) deeming him “The First Gay President.”

The proclamation by Newsweek comes after Obama announced his support for gay marriage last week.

The cover was inspired by Toni Morrison who called Bill Clinton the “first black president.” She wrote, “Clinton displays almost every trope of blackness: single-parent household, born poor, working-class, saxophone-playing, McDonald’s-and-junk-food-loving boy from Arkansas”.

Obama, of course, became the first sitting President to support gay marriage when he told Robin Roberts that like Vice President Joe Biden, he too was in favor of marriage equality.

The final four contestants on this season of Donald Trump’s “Celebrity Apprentice” sure are looking out for the gays. For those of you who aren’t watching, its down to two men. One is gay. One is raising money and awareness for an organization that widely benefits the gay community. It might surprise you to find out that it is the straight finalist who is working for the gays.

The remaining contenders are former “American Idol” runner-up Clay Aiken and talk show pioneer Aresnal Hall.  As always, the “Celebrity Apprentice” contest chose a charity for which they will raise money and awareness throughout the season.  Aiken picked the National Inclusion Project, an organization that works to ensure kids from all walks of life including those wit disabilities get to play together.  Hall is working for the Magic Johnson Foundation, an organization that largely is trying to help find a cure for and assist those living with HIV and AIDS.

Beyond that, the other two contestants who made it to the final four on “Celebrity Apprentice” picked organizations that directly serve the LGBT community. Fourth place finisher, controversial comic Lisa Lampanelli, pledged her support for Gay Men’s Health Crisis (GMHC). An organization whose mission is to fight to “end the AIDS epidemic and uplift the lives of all affected.”  Former Danity Kane member and “Making the Band” contestant Aubrey O’Day fell just short of making the top two. She chose Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN) as her non-profit organization. According to their website,  GLSEN is a group for students, parents, and teachers that tri
s to affect positive change in schools.

However, as previously mentioned, it comes to Clay and Arsenal. If the Aiken is hired by Trump as the “Celebrity Apprentice,” then kids with disabilities will get the chance to live together and feel included by their peers.  If Hall wins, the huge chunk of money will go to help fight HIV and AIDS through the Magic Johnson Foundation.  Both are great organizations.

For their final competition, Clay and Arsenal were tasked with creating a Publc Service Announcement involving their respective charity. Each picked a team of former “Celebrity Apprentice” contenders as their team to assist with the project.

It seems as though the winner will be the one who is able to hold it together until the end. On this week’s episode, Arsenal stuggled after his video of Magic Johnson came back in shambles showing the former basketball star from bizarre angles often hard to hear and understand. Clay was accused by his team of being a micro-manager even butting in on phone calls when he felt outnumbered or backed into a corner.

In the end, it is up to Donald Trump to decide who gets fired and who he will hire as this season’s “Celebrity Apprentice”. The winner will be announced on the live finale on Sunday night.

The world of high fashion is a real bitch. There are too many choices but very little in most of our pockets to dish out for a new wardrobe each season. The past century wasn’t much different with numerous designers coming in and out of style with the general public. Being a total vintage whore myself I recently discovered quite the jaw-dropping video on YouTube regarding high-end fashionable eyewear for the ladies. Think Lady Gaga circa 1955. (She didn’t create the freak chic look. Just sayin’.)
